Hampton School New-build block in existing courtyard.

We secured this prestigious private school project for Neilcott Construction Ltd which was a new build block in the courtyard of an existing school lightwell. The new block at Hampton School was to become a music studio and centre for the pupils and linked into 2 adjacent buildings through 2 walkways at 2 different levels and there was a volume of remodeling works to the existing classroom blocks adjacent including extending the length of the buildings which were formed from SFS and steel frame with decorative external acoustic render to dampen the noise from the music block. a new glass roof was installed over the courtyard to create an internal enclosed and weather proof area on the ground floor.

Our volume of works at Hampton School nearly doubled due to the school board providing our client with additional works to carry out in the existing school during summer holidays including making good existing walls, new ceilings throughout and some opening up classsrooms, removing walls and blocking up redundant windows and doorways from previous remodeling. All done within the school holidays.

We also had to work closely with the team at Hampton School to avoid exam timetables and loading and deliveries had to be timed accurately with restrictions on the sizes of lorries and volume of materials delivered in each load.

We drew on our experience of working in schools over the past 20 years for inspiration and creative solutions for loading out and gaining access to tight areas for intricate finishes and removing wast from an existing building with tight timescales similar to German School and also Blackheath High School
